Dolcissimo  UPCOMING CONCERT: SUNDAY  NOVEMBER 14, 2010, 7pm , at CARNEGIE HALL

DOLCISSIMO - will appear at an Annual concert in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, honoring Gloria and Harvey Kaylie.

   Dolcissimo operatic group was founded through an artistic, creative collaboration of Esty Crisona and Dmitri Shevelev in February 2008. The group brings together vocal artists of varying styles, uniting them in a harmonious blend of sublime, inspiring music.

    MAGICAL BEGINNING:

 It all began in February 2008, when Esty and Dmitri met at an evening of community sing along event at the New York Synagogue.  “After that everything was magical – as if things were predestined to happen in the amazing way they’ve turned out“, said Dmitri.  Esty and Dmitri began singing as a duo, leaving their audience hypnotized and electrified by their Broadway Love Duets.  Their soprano and tenor voices are a perfect blend, bringing their own rendition of some of the most beautiful Broadway duets of all time.  After a year of concert performances , the duo increased to  six singers, and had more than fifty appearances in the US, including their Carnegie Hall debut, in November  2009.

  The musical talents of Dolcissimo’s highly gifted members blend perfectly, bringing a unique harmony to each performance. The wide repertoire of the group and the versatility of their music, combined with their beautiful classically trained voices, keep the audience wishing for more.
  

Dolcissimo has been heard on numerous Radio stations.  They also taped a TV show that has been aired in NY,CT, as well as LA and Boston.
  

By popular demand, this exciting operatic group makes their second appearance at  Carnegie Hall on Sunday , November 14, 2010.

Dolcissimo welcomes a new member of the group,  Baritone Kreshnik Zhabjaku.

                                 Konstantin Stepanov- Tenor

                 Konstantin Stepanov, tenor. Birthplace: Uzbekistan. This season at City Opera: debut as B.F. Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly. Career highlights: made his American debut in 2008 in Carnegie Hall as The Young Man in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar’s Bride with Eve Queler’s Opera Orchestra of New York; Alexander Gretchaninoff’s Liturgia Domestica with Saratoga Choral Festival;  Alfredo in La Traviata and Lensky in Eugene Onegin in the Grand Hall of Moscow State Conservatory; Bastien in Bastien und Bastienne and the title role of Gretry’s Peter the Great with Helicon Opera in Moscow; toured with the Tula State Philharmonic in evenings of Russian folklore songs and also sang arias from Rienzi, Lohengrin and Die Meistersinger in Moscow’s Rachmaninov Hall. Upcoming engagements: debut with Lyric Opera of Chicago as Malcolm while covering Macduff in their Macbeth.  

                        YURY VIDERMAN- Tenor
Yury Viderman- Tenor, was born and educated in Russia, earning a Master Degree in vocal performance and attending Cantorial School in Moscow.
He completed his Vocal Education at Tel Aviv’s Cantorial Institute.
Yury has won awards in Russia and Israel and has been heard in recitals in both countries as well as in Germany.
Concerts and Opera performances have kept him busy, as well as a recent four-year stint as conductor of the Boy’s Choir, Magic Wand.

Yury is gifted with a sensitive charming Tenor and his
High notes can often bring tears to your eyes.

Currently, Yury performs in concerts throughout the Metropolitan Area, with the “DOLCISSIMO” group. 

                            VAGO JOHN OHANYAN- Baritone
John Ohanyan-Baritone, was born in Yerevan Armenia.
He holds a Doctoral degree in Arts Education and an MA in Music Performance from
The former Soviet Union, as well as a certificate from the Julliard School.
In 1996 John became a union member of the American Guild of Musical Artists.
In 2002 he appeared as a soloist with the American Symphony Orchestra, conducted by
Leon Botstein, in a concert version of Rachmaninoff’s Francesca Da Rimini at Avery Fisher Hall, produced by MidAmerican Productions.
John made his critically praised New York City Opera debut in 2006 as Sid in Puccini’s la Fanciulla Del West.

Other highlights includes solo recitals with the Boston Chamber Orchestra and the role of Silvo in Pagliacci with the New York’s Opera Mobile at Lincoln Center.
In Russia, he was a soloist in G. Faure’s and with Mozart’s Requiems with the
St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra.

Mr. Ohanyan continues performing Internationally at various prestigious Festivals and
Opera houses, as well as with the “DOLCISSIMO” group, as a Baritone and as the
Musical director. He was gifted with a very powerful rich Baritone who leaves deep
Impression on his audiences.

In addition to his singing talent, John is a wonderful pianist and currently teaches piano and voice lessons.

                            ESTY TZABAR CRISONA-Soprano
International Soprano  Esty Tzabar Crisona came to the U.S from Israel after building an impressive singing and dancing career overseas.
Growing up with a father who was an opera singer, Esty developed a love for music at a very early age. She went on to perform in musicals and numerous productions as a singer and as a dancer.
In the Israeli army she served in an army musical troup and entertained the soldiers on the borders.

Esty also danced in the ballet troup of the Israeli Opera. She performed throughout Israel, Europe and the U.S.
Esty toured the U.S with the Chassidic Festival and with the German production “Halleluya Broadway” in Europe.

She represented Israel in the prestigious European Song Festival-The “Eurovision” and together with “Alpha Beta” group, won the first place with the song “Aba-Nibi”.

Esty is classically trained and her wide singing range enables her to sing a vast repertoire of songs from contemporary to Broadway and from Jazz to Opera.

Currently, Esty performs with special guest artists and with the DOLCISSIMO opera singers, in concerts throughout the Metropolitan area.

                              DMITRI SHEVELEV- TENOR
Dmitri Shevelev- Tenor, was born in Russia and grew up in a musical home with parents who were accomplished concert pianists.
His music education began at a tender age.
At 6 years of age he began to sing in a choir that performed throughout the
Soviet Union as well as other countries. When he was 13, his family moved to Israel and there he continued his musical education.
Dmitri performed with the New Israeli opera (N.I.O) for a period of 4 years.

Upon arriving in the U.S in 2002, he attended the Staten Island College and the Brooklyn College Conservatory, there he sang lead parts in the college opera productions.

Dmitri has participated in operatic work shops for young artists in the
U.S and abroad. Dmitri is gifted with a very rich powerful Tenor and with the emotions he brings to each performance, he touches the heart of his audience.In addition to his musical talent, Dmitri is a Chess Master. He began playing Chess at the age of 6 and today he is considered one of top 4% in the world.

Currently he teaches Chess in New York area and runs Chess competitions for children.

Dmitri can be heard on the concert stages in the Tri State area and is planning for more concerts in the very near future with the “DOLCISSIMO” group.

Kreshnik Zhabjaku, Baritone.

Kreshnik began his singing career at the age of four. At twelve he won First Prize in the “Young Voices” competition in his native Albania. He received his first graduate degree in 1997 from Tirana’s Academy of Fine Arts and went on to perform with many outstanding orchestras in Europe, appearing regularly in France, Italy, and Austria. He also received a master’s degree in Vocal Performance from the Mannes College of Music, New York in 2003. Among many distinctions and honors, Washington Post praised him as: “a recitalist in his prime…His soothing voice was a conduit for character…” and Huston Chronicle: “Kreshnik Zhabjaku asserts a smooth, forceful voice and presence in the title role.”. Mr. Zhabjaku performed at the Music University of Vienna, the Annecy Festival in France; master classes in Marseille; he won First Prize as “Best Young Singer” in Albania’s Art Song Performance competition in 1996 and won the prestigious Arleen Auger Memorial Fund Scholarship for 2001. He performed in Salzburg, Austria at the famous Weiner Saal, Universitat Mozarteum, 2008, 2009. His operatic career includes many roles mentioning few: both Figaros (Rossini’s Barber of Seville and Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro), Don Giovanni & Masetto( Don Giovanni, Mozart), Bel Core (L’elesir D’amor, Donizzetti), Germont (La Traviata,Verdi), Aeneas (Dido & Aeneas, Purcell), Gaudenzio (Il Signor Bruschino, Rossini), Umberto (La Serva Padrona, Pergolessi),etc…

New York, NY, July 7, 2009 – Dolcissimo, an exciting new music group specializing in classical, light opera and Broadway show music will hold its next concert on November 22^nd at Carnegie Hall (in the Weill Recital Hall). The group is one of NYC’s up & coming musical troupes, known for its heart-throbbing romantic songs and classical melodies. It is comprised of a Soprano, a Baritone and three Tenors, all with beautiful classically-trained voices.   

Dolcissimo is a business and artistic collaborative venture between Esty Tzabar Crisona, owner of Eaj Productions (www.eajproductions.com) and Dmitri Shevelev, owner of My Chess Family (www.mychessfamily.com), who decided to join their two companies as investors and producers – as well as performers – in this powerful music venture. 

“It all started when I met Esty,” says Dmitri, recalling the evening when he first heard her sing during a community singing event at the NY Synagogue. “After that everything was magical – as if things were predestined to happen in the amazing way they’ve turned out.”

The musical talents of Dolcissimo’s highly gifted members blend perfectly, bringing total harmony to the group’s performances. For each singer, music is not just a profession, but something they love and a part of their personality. Esty, for example, trained as a classical singer, has an angelic voice that is irresistible, as well as a wide vocal range. She came to the U.S. from Israel with impressive credits as an international singer and dancer, having performed in a number of European productions and won the Eurovision song contest in Paris, representing her country. Her music, which she markets through Eaj Productions, is much in demand for various NY events.  

A daughter of a father who was an opera singer, Esty’s dream had long been to sing in concerts with four other opera singers. That vision became a reality when, after performing in concerts with Dmitri for about a year, the two decided to recruit the three other wonderful talented singers that make up the group and Dolcissimo was born.

Dmitri, the son of two classical pianists, was born in Russia and began singing at the age of six. Before coming to the U.S., he was with the New Israeli Opera for four years. In New York he is known in particular in his Synagogue for beautiful singing, which he says “is a religion in itself.” He is also a consummate chess master and coach, reaching out to chess enthusiasts with lessons for children and adults in the New York area through My Chess Family.

Dolcissimo has been heard on radio stations like WPAT (930AM) with John Luke and Teddy Smith, Davidson Radio (a Russian station), and with Danny Stiles on WNYC (820AM) and WNSW (1430AM). The group has also taped a TV show that will be aired in New York and Connecticut as well as Los Angeles and Boston (July 22, Channel 57, 4:00pm Eastern Standard Time).

In the same year his work was included in the 12 best compositions at the Group Quest USA International Competition. In 2002 he was awarded the prestigious Robertson Scholarship in Composition at the University of Utah, primarily based on his Second Symphony, which was performed in Berlin in 2001 at the Young Euro-Classic International Festival by the Armenian Philharmonic
Orchestra.
